Kristen Zatina is an account manager at Profiles with nearly 14 years experience in public relations, marketing and media. Kristen works with a variety of clients daily to help them design and implement their marketing strategies – from restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues, to national retail chains, professionals services firms and nonprofits. She approaches each brand as a distinctive identity with unique offerings and audiences, aiming to holistically align their promotional and community activities with their larger business goals for maximum growth potential and sustainability. Among her skills, she is particularly inclined toward writing – both for standard essentials like press releases and op-eds, and for the more creative materials like clients’ stories, ad lines and social posts. In her role, she also helps head up media outreach, influencer relations, event planning, grassroots activities, market research and competitor analysis.
Before Profiles, Kristen worked at the global PR firm Edelman at its office in Washington, DC. There, her client portfolio spanned numerous sectors including food, automotive, education, pharmaceutical and government. Among her endeavors, she supported Taco Bell’s new menu items and corporate philanthropy activities, First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign through her Partnership for a Healthier America organization, and Harvard Business School’s economic leadership and intellectual assets. Within the crisis and litigation practice, Kristen’s experience includes Penn State University’s response to the Jerry Sandusky scandal and the beef industry’s management of the “pink slime” report that nearly devastated suppliers.
Previous to Edelman, Kristen had served as the marketing director for a small company in downtown Baltimore. She also spent a few years working in the entertainment industry in New York City in the field of radio, and then in Los Angeles in TV production as well as publicity at Universal’s music label Interscope Geffen A&M Records. Eventually, her focus returned to corporate branding with a marketing position at Whole Foods Market in Beverly Hills.
Having spent the later portion of her upbringing in Baltimore, Kristen attended high school at Notre Dame Preparatory. She then graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in television-radio, advertising and public relations. She currently resides in Baltimore where her family still lives today.
