Alex Silverman is an account manager at PROFILES, leading public relations and marketing campaigns that result in positive media coverage, award recognitions, and other high-visibility opportunities for clients.

Alex develops and implements strategic marketing programs that include media outreach, influencer relations, article and thought leadership contributions, community outreach and event planning.

Her work on behalf of clients such as the Y in Central Maryland, Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, Baltimore Homecoming and the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women has helped organizations meet key event, business and fundraising goals, position them for growth and achieve greater brand awareness. Specifically, Alex plays a key role in helping nonprofit clients surpass their annual event participation and fundraising goals year over year. For example, her marketing and PR work for the Y’s annual Turkey Trot Charity 5K resulted in the event’s highest attendance ever in 2019 with 16,000 registrations. In addition, her client, the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore’s seasonal Harbor Market and Waterfront Wellness series recorded the highest attendance ever in 2019. She has been instrumental in securing local, national and international media coverage for the Waterfront Partnership’s “Mr. Trash Wheel” trash inceptor, which is part of the organization’s mission to make Baltimore’s Inner Harbor swimmable and fishable.

By maintaining excellent media and client relations, Alex has obtained coverage for clients in such media outlets as Wired magazine, The New Yorker, The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Business Journal and Baltimore magazine and on TV and radio outlets throughout the region as well as industry publications and features on social media.

Prior to joining PROFILES, Alex worked in communications, marketing and external relations for nearly a decade at Parks & People Foundation, building awareness for the organization’s mission and programs. She launched and managed social media channels in addition to managing projects and planning events for the nonprofit organization.

Alex graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School for Public Communications with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. She currently resides in Baltimore City with her husband and rescue pup. In her free time, Silverman loves to discover new restaurants, events and places that celebrate the quirkiness and charm of Baltimore.

She enjoys using her media relations and writing expertise to give a voice to causes that make a difference in Baltimore and beyond. Her versatility, unique understanding of nonprofit audiences and mission-driven thinking offer PROFILES’ nonprofit clients a competitive edge.
