Amy Elias is the founder and CEO of PROFILES and has more than 30 years of communications, public relations and marketing experience.
Since founding PROFILES in 1990, Amy has built a firm dedicated to advancing clients’ messages and achieving their goals through the development and implementation of comprehensive communications programs. As Founder and CEO of PROFILES, Amy guides the company’s strategic direction as a multi-faceted communications firm. Under her leadership, the firm has established solid client relationships and maintains critical partnerships with community and business leaders from throughout the region.
Amy has provided marketing, branding and public relations counsel to national, regional and local clients from various industries including non-profit, accounting, law, hospitality, tourism, arts/entertainment, education, healthcare and real estate/development. Her creative thinking and strategy development have produced positive results for organizations such as the National Aquarium, the Maryland Jockey Club/The Stronach Group, MileOne Autogroup, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and Enterprise Community Development.
Amy has been recognized as a leader in her field, being named one of The Baltimore Sun’s 2020 Women to Watch. She has also been named one of The Daily Record’s “Top 100 Women” three times and, as a result, was inducted into the Circle of Excellence in 2020. Over the years, Amy has been recognized as one of The Daily Record’s “Most Admired CEOs”, as one of the publication’s “Influential Marylanders” for communications and was a recipient of the organization’s inaugural “Icon Honors” awards program, recognizing Maryland business leaders for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership. Her work on behalf of PROFILES’ clients has earned national, regional and local Addy, MarCom, Communicator and PRSA awards.
Throughout her career, Amy has gained valuable experience in all facets of the marketing industry as public relations director for W.B. Doner & Company, assignment editor for WJZ-TV (CBS), director of membership and promotions for the National Aquarium and owner of an independent catering company. She is a graduate of Emory University.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Amy is committed to philanthropic endeavors that better the community. She currently serves on the Baltimore Museum of Art board of directors and has previously served on committees of Kennedy Krieger Institute, Maryland Art Place, CENTERSTAGE, Baltimore School for the Arts, Songs for Life, The House of Ruth, and The Maryland Zoo.
