Throughout the year, we welcome several collegiate students to our internship program and provide them with meaningful opportunities gaining valuable experience in the public relations, marketing, social media and events industries. At PROFILES, our interns don’t run coffee; they’re part of our team. Our interns have gone on to work with such organizations as Baltimore magazine, Habitat for Humanity, University of Maryland College Park’s Athletics Department, Under Armour, Visit Baltimore and countless other prestigious companies. Others have used their experience at PROFILES to pursue graduate degrees, become entrepreneurs in the PR industry, and find opportunities abroad. Interns at PROFILES are responsible for an assortment of professional duties including, but not limited to: drafting media materials, media database management (including training of Cision), developing content for social media platforms, media tracking, planning special events, coordinating promotions and learning the day-to-day workings of a PR firm.

    • Public Relations Internship

      PROFILES is looking for a Public Relations Intern to join the team! Ideal candidates have a passion for developing marketing strategies, consuming media across all platforms, and making it their mission to stay on top of the latest trends in the industry.
      Responsibilities may include:
      • Creating and organizing press clippings and media materials
      • Writing and editing press releases, copy for marketing materials and pitches, and other written materials
      • Presenting and developing pitch ideas
      • Assisting in the planning and execution of special events including on-site assistance; and database management
      • Assisting with clerical and general support needs of PROFILES
      • Researching information for clients
      • Building targeted media lists for specific announcements
      At PROFILES, you'll be asked to create real lists, to call out real data, and to draft and edit real pitches and news releases. When you finish your PR internship at PROFILES, you should already know how to create a valuable media list, how to properly research journalists, influencers and bloggers, how to compose a personalized pitch, and how to write a catchy news release.

    • Social Media Internship

      PROFILES is looking for a Social Media Intern to join the firm's dynamic social media account team! Ideal candidates have experience across all social media platforms, an appreciation for brand strategy, and make it their mission to stay on top of the latest trends in the industry.
      Responsibilities may include:
      • Assisting in managing the PROFILES agency social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
      • Assisting with creating and managing monthly social media content calendars
      • Researching new methods for supporting and growing engagement across all platforms
      • Engaging via social channels with clients and partners
      • Assisting with design, implementation and management of social media campaigns for PROFILES clients
      • Sending updates on client articles and press opportunities
      • Assisting with social media analytics and reporting
      • Editing photos for social media and developing new, fresh content for client social media channels
